Based at Kingslee Guest House in Betalbatim, south Goa, we offer an opportunity to cook under the guidance of a local chef many interesting local dishes which would appeal to any Indian food addict. The dishes are not generally available outside of Goa and are a combination of Indian and Portuguese flavours married together over the last 350 years.
Day 1 - We propose that you join us using your own transport arrangements to Goa airport or Margao station. From there you will be collected and transported to Kingslee Guest House by an English speaking host who will give you an introduction to Goa on the way. You are free to relax and enjoy the local beach and hostelries for the rest of the day.
Day 2/3/4/5/6 - Arise and enjoy a full breakfast and enter the cooking school at 09:00 and prepare food until 12:00. Thereafter you will be able to eat the fruits of your labour and relax before exploring the area, beach, local markets or take a tour. Round off the day with a beer on the beach to watch the marvellous sunsets.
Day 7 - Is a free day for you to enjoy as you please.
Dinner at Fishermans Wharf in Cavelossim would be a superb way to round of your holiday as this is Goa’s answer to Kiki’s in Mykonos or The Fish Pot in Barbados; great local food, in a wonderful environment.
Day 8 - Will be your departure day from Kingslee and transport will be available to Goa airport or Margao station. Check out please by 12:00. On closure of the week you will be presented with a certificate of competence and a book illustrating menus that you have prepared as well as some you might like to try when you get back home.
